Auto Detailing Signage Considered - "This Vehicle Being Detailed By" Signs Increase Business

Any entrepreneur who wants to succeed in their small business must consider grassroots marketing tactics. I think we are all familiar with these types of marketing techniques, after all probably all of us have read the popular small business entrepreneurial book "Guerrilla Marketing" by Conrad. Now then, before retirement I ran a franchising company in the cleaning sector, and yes we did franchise mobile detailing units.

One of the concepts that I had put into our operations manual was to remind all of the franchisees that the best new customer to get, would be the car this next door to the one that you are detailing currently. And if you were in a neighborhood, perhaps a high-end section of town, detailing a nice Mercedes, or some exotic sports car, it makes sense that perhaps the next-door neighbor, or another neighbor across the street might also want services.

Not to mention the fact that if you are detailing someone's car in their driveway, there are plenty of people driving by and seeing what you are doing. Therefore it makes a lot of sense to have good signage on your mobile detailing rig, and crisp, clean uniforms. Also, it would be irresponsible in my professional opinion having been in the industry for some 30 years not to put an "A-Frame" sign out by the curb that everyone driving by could see.

"This Vehicle Being Detailed by (Your Business Name and Logo Here)"

And it hardly matters if you are detailing a boat down at the Marina, or an aircraft at the airport. In that case you should put in A-Frame sign on the dock, or a small A-Frame sign in a conspicuous place at the hangar special. Why wouldn't you do that? In fact, whenever I went to visit our franchisees, I would call them on their mobile phone, as I came into town, and I would drive to wherever they were working, on the job site to help them.

It was my way of getting a little exercise, and do something that I really enjoyed prior to becoming the franchisor founder. Often, our franchisees were too busy and in a hurry to put out the A-Frame sign. And yet occasionally they would complain that they didn't make as much money as they had hoped during the month - that they were really busy on Thursdays, Fridays, and Saturdays, but they were slow the rest of the week.

Now then, let this be a reminder to you, you should learn from our mistakes, and you should always put out that A-Frame sign to remind everyone in the area who is detailing that vehicle, airplane, or boat; the success of your business depends on it. Please consider all this and think on it.

In Mobile Car Washing Size Matters - The Smaller the Vehicle the Better In fact

Over the years, I've designed and developed many types of mobile car wash units. And I worked with our vendors, contractors, and other companies in the pressure washing industry to come up with what I believe to be the most efficient mobile carwash trucks, trailers, vans, and setups. One thing I can say is that when it comes to mobile car detailing, and mobile washing size very much does matter. And often it is the smaller size which is most efficient. Let me explain.

You see, before retirement I ran a franchising company which sold mobile car wash units, and depending on the type of washing one would do, it often made sense to go with a larger truck to hold more water, that is to say a larger plastic water tank, which would support the weight. Remember water weighs 8.2 pounds per gallon, so if you want to take 300 gallons of water you're looking at a 2500 pound payload. That's a lot more than the average truck can take. Remember, 2000 pounds equals 1 ton.

Indeed, I also came to realize that sometimes 100 gallons of water or even less was sufficient for doing high-end cars at people's homes, or at their office buildings. And we discovered that working out of the back of let's say a Cushman Scooter, or a small three wheeled vehicle often made a lot of sense. This is because you were never in someone's way in a parking structure, parking lot, and it didn't take very long to walk around the work vehicle to get supplies.

Working out of a bigger vehicle, or a large trailer is not as easy as you might think. Then there is the issue, especially now with the price of fuel on saving money buying gasoline. A small three-wheeled vehicle may have a two or three cylinder motor, and they're pretty much a fuel sipper, which means you'll have more money at the end of the day because your costs are lower.

In fact, over time we developed international units which were very small trailers, and they could easily be towed by a three-wheeled vehicle, or even modified to be moved around like a pushcart or a rickshaw. Anyone going into the mobile car washing or detailing business needs to consider the importance of the size of the vehicle based on the type of work you will be doing because size really does matter.

Therefore, you need to do some strategic thinking here, consider all the options, and surf around the Internet until you find exactly what you need to get the job done at the lowest possible cost. Please consider all this, and e-mail me if you have any other questions, comments, or concerns.

Importance of a Clean Vehicle and Easy Steps to Take

Cleanliness is important when it comes to such things as personal hygiene, the home and the office. It is certainly important when it comes to vehicles as well. Many people are meticulous when it comes to keeping their car cleaned inside and out. Unfortunately, there are a good number of people who do not see the merit and do not take the time to properly clean the car. There are a number of reasons why it is important and a few simple steps that can be taken to ensure the vehicle is looking good and running well.

How the car is maintained actually says a lot about the owner as well. If the car is clean and there is no garbage inside, the driver most likely is someone that has the car regularly serviced and routinely checks things such as the oil level and tire pressures. They are the ones that will have a vehicle that runs and performs well for years to come. On the other hand, the person with the messy car that has trash inside is the one who is not properly caring for the vehicle. Maintenance is not up to date in most instances and the vehicle will generally last as long as it should.

Cleaning a vehicle does not need to be a labor intensive project that lasts for hours. By doing a few simple things, this process can be relatively painless and take the owner no time at all. The first thing would be to keep the garbage and clutter out of the car. If it builds up, going through the massive pile of garbage and belongings can be time consuming. Garbage should be taken out of the car as soon as possible. This will help to keep the car free from odors, mildew and mold. When belongings are not needed, they do not need to be in the car.

Wiping down the dash and other areas of the car should be done weekly to get rid of any accumulated dust. This can also be done to the inside of the windows. Many people forget to do the inside of the windows, but this is an important step and will actually improve visibility if it hasn't been done in a while.

The washing of the outside of the vehicle is usually the step that people do not enjoy. For those who do not want to do it by hand, going to an automatic carwash is a good alternative. To save expenses, there are often coupon books or frequent guest promotions.

When it comes to driving conditions, there can be a lot of things that end up on the car that are not that beneficial. Examples would be driving in muddy or dusty conditions. Things such as road grime, salt and dirt can get into areas such as the radiator, brake pads, into the engine itself and in the cabin. Regularly washing the underside of the car can get rid of accumulated dirt. This is usually best done with a pressure washer or by using a car wash that has a setting for engine cleaning.

In the car, it is a good idea to keep a few items that will be useful in cleaning in between the regular washing and detail work. A container of car wipes or baby wipes can be useful in wiping down the console and getting any spills or stains before they have time to set in. Also, a handful of paper towels and a cotton towel are handy when the unexpected coffee cup gets dropped on the floor mat.

With a few simple steps, it is easy to keep your car clean. This will ensure that it is in better condition and will hopefully provide many years of trusted service.

Keeping your car clean is important in so many ways. The best alternative to washing your own vehicle in the Nashville area is to use this automatic car wash in Murfreesboro. Watch for frequent promotions and savings for Super Speed Wash, a Murfreesboro carwash.

Eight Reasons for Tinting Your Vehicle Windows

Vehicle window tinting is one of the most popular car enhancements available today. Automotive specialty stores offer window tinting for all kinds of vehicles, including cars, SUVs, trucks, and RVs. Aside from aesthetic appeal, there are many reasons that vehicle owners choose to have tinted film placed on their windows.

Reduce heat and avoid overheating. Heat build-up in your car is not only uncomfortable for you and your passengers; it can put a strainon your engine and air-conditioning system. Tinted windows help to minimize the accumulation of heat within a vehicle. In fact, some films on the market today offer an 85 to 95% heat rejection rate. That translates into a much cooler car, even on the hottest and most humid days.

Protect your vehicle's interior. The UV rays of the sun can damage the interior of your car. Upholstery may fade after long-term exposure to the sun. Leather seats may crack and become brittle as well. Tinted windows block 99% of the sun's harmful rays, protecting your car's interior from pre-mature aging.

Protect your skin. Just like your car's interior, your skin is susceptible to damage from the UVA and UVB rays that filter into your vehicle through the windows. Sun damage to your skin can lead to cancer. Window tinting can block those damaging rays and prevent you and your passengers from dangerous sun exposure.

Reduce glare. Tinted windows help reduce the glare of the sun during daytime driving and the glare of headlights at night. This reduction will allow drivers to have a clearer view of the road and ideally, be able to avoid deadly accidents.

Improve fuel-efficiency. Because tinted windows keep a car's interior so much cooler, there is less strain put on the vehicle's engine and air-conditioner. Drivers are able to save some money because they will not be wasting fuel by cooling down their car dramatically each time it has been sitting for long periods of time.

Protection during an accident. In the event of an accident, window tint can help shattered glass hold together, protecting you and your passengers from dangerous shards of glass that may result from an impact.

Improve security. Window tinting blocks a potential thief's view of the valuables inside your vehicle. A criminal is less likely to break-in to a car unless he knows that there is something he wants. Darkened windows can deter thieves who attempt to "smash-and-grab" valuables from your vehicle.

Improves appearance. Tinted windows add a sophisticated style to any vehicle. Whether you prefer to make a bold statement or desire a subtler look, various shades of tint are available to fulfill all of your style requirements. However, drivers must follow local window tinting regulations and guidelines in order to avoid costly fines and tint removal.

Auto window tint offers numerous benefits to the consumer, making it an extremely popular enhancement for vehicle owners around the country. It is important to remember that you must find a qualified installer who can inform you about your tint choices and install it professionally and correctly. Getting it done right the first time will eliminate tint removal and replacement in the future.

Bruce DeDona is the owner of DeDona Tint and Sound. His company offers full service window tinting solutions for Cars, Trucks, Semi's, RV's, Homes and Corporate Offices in Greensboro, NC and the Piedmont Triad.

Remapping Vehicle Engines

Engine Remapping in Detail

When people talk about Remapping what do they mean?

Well to answer this question we need to advise you on how most vehicles on the road today work. As from 1994/5 almost all vehicles were fitted with an engine Control System for the control of the vehicles major functions.

The Engine Management System (ECU)?

The vehicle Control Management system is referred to as the ECU (Electronic Control Unit) and this ECU controls all of the engines major functions including vehicle power, fuel mixture, air flow, air pressure etc. The ECU system manages these major functions by referencing a matrix of values that control these important engine functions, this information is referred to as an ECU map.

Making changes to the factory settings

The values inside the ECU map are set at the factory for what is believed to be the optimum settings for this vehicle but in most cases these optimum values were set in areas of the world different to where the vehicle will be driven. The main issue with this is that these values were set in different conditions including height above sea level, road conditions, temperature of the location where the vehicle will be used

All of this means that when the vehicle arrives in the local geography it is not always tuned for optimum performance and economy for that particular country.

Changing the map settings inside the ECU allow important functions of the engine management system to be set to a desired optimum configuration.

When you Change the map settings in The Engine What's happens to the overall engine function and economy?

In most cases improvements of the performance and the economy of the vehicle can be remarkably improved by changing some of these values within the ECU map.

Care should always be taken though to ensure that as these changes are made the engine is checked to make sure that none of the motor vehicles sensors are flagging issues in other elements of the vehicle engine and that the break horse power and economy of the vehicle are all logged before the start of the remapping process.

On top of the fact that we can improve the engine torque, typically we also improve the handling of the vehicle at lower rev ranges such as engine flat spots. This can also cure engine hesitation problems delivering more torque making the engine more responsive and a more enjoyable drive.

It is essential in my opinion that you inspect all of the vehicles sensors to ensure that none of them are triggering any sort of fault, before proceeding.

Its is also a good idea to check the BPH of the vehicle before downloading and saving the original ECU map from the vehicle.

There are different processes for remapping an engine at this point, often a new version of the map that will make subtle changes to the vehicles map values incorporating increases in the BPH and the fuel economy, will be installed.

Tips for Finding Vehicle Exterior Work

If you've recently been in a car accident, or simply need to have work done on your vehicle, you may need the services of a good technician who can work on the exterior of your car. If you have any damage to the exterior of your car, there are a few things that can help you find a qualified technician who can easily fix this damage quickly and cost-effectively.

Working with a good and qualified technician can help take a lot of the stress out of the process of having work done on your car. Finding a good worker for your vehicle needs is another matter. When you start looking for anyone to work on your vehicle exterior, one of the best ways to find someone that you can trust and who performs high quality work is by going through a referral. Ask people that you know about who they use to complete their paint work or dent work on their vehicle.
Once you have a list of referrals from people who have recently had work done on their car, you can start comparing the prices and services of each different company. Call around and see which companies are able to do free estimates on your car or truck. Many companies that have good reputations will offer free estimates of the work that needs to be done. It's a good idea to get more than one estimate from different companies to see what type of cost you will be looking at when it comes to repairs.
Check around in your area for companies or individuals that do this kind of work. Having someone close by can be a real benefit when it comes to working on your car, truck, van, or any other type of vehicle.
When you start meeting with different companies or different individuals, make sure that you get a written estimate of how much money you are going to spend on the work, before any actual work is done on your car. Any reputable company will be happy to provide you with an estimate in writing before they start working or doing any repairs to the outside of your vehicle.
Ask for certifications and other qualifications of the different companies that you are looking into using for your repair needs. Companies should have a current business license and may also have specific certification to do any type of Utah auto body work on your car, truck, or other vehicle.

Why DIY Is Not the Best Approach to Vehicle Conversions

If you have suddenly been faced with the situation of caring for someone who is confined to a wheelchair or are yourself a wheelchair user, you are likely to have found that there are a lot of unexpected expenses cropping up in all areas of your life. From medical bills and rehabilitation, exercise or physiotherapy expenses, to stair lifts, ramp installation, and not least vehicle conversions. It can be hard to not start looking for ways to lower costs by cutting corners here and there, so, understandably, conversions of vehicle may be one area where a DIY approach is tempting. A lot of people may believe that wheelchair vehicle conversions are as simple as ripping out a few seats and fashioning a ramp out of a plank of wood or metal sheet, but that couldn't be further from safe travelling policy.

Although some manuals or blogs may encourage the do-it-yourself approach to vehicle conversions, selecting the right kind of modifications for your requirements and then getting them assembled correctly is a fine art. Wheelchair conversions of vehicle can be anything from rear entry conversions with extendible foldaway motorised ramps, electronically monitored wheelchair docking systems, wheel locks and elastic wheelchair straps, to remote control power transfer seats and mechanical lifts. These kinds of vehicle conversions are nothing to be taken lightly and their incorrect assemblage can have severe repercussions on the safety of all passengers.

To ensure safety for wheelchair confined passengers, both the passenger and the chair must be secured with premium quality adjustable straps and wheel locks, along with safety belts and head rests. If safety straps are not securely tightened, in the event of a collision, the wheelchair can collide with other passengers inside the car, causing further injury to them and the occupant of the wheelchair. Without the necessary expertise, it's going to be difficult to install all of these elements necessary for complete vehicle conversions by you to an adequate level of safety. Experts in vehicle conversions will install seats and locks that have been crash tested to meet safety standards. Although DIY modifications may save some expense, it's very unlikely that your own handy-work would comply with the standards necessary to withstand the force of a crash.

It's often said that you can't put a price on safety, and nowhere is that more true than in the business of wheelchair vehicle conversions where safety must be paramount. Often the need for such conversions arises at a difficult time in people lives during which they are faced with a great deal of personal, emotional, physical and financial strain, but this is one area where the importance of seeking the assistance of an expert cannot be underestimated.

Need vehicle conversions specialist who can provides professional solutions to convert cars and vehicles into wheelchair accessible cars and wheelchair accessible vehicle. Capital Special Vehicles Melbourne is famous for modifying vehicles as durable wheelchair accessible vehicles.
