Car Customization - Improving Performance

Getting a few extra MPH is big business these days. Take a look on the internet for modifications to give your car a little extra speed - the list is endless.

Keeping your engine running in peak performance does not mean that you have to install high-end performance parts. Trying to keep your engine running with no missing or shuddering when you give it gas can be more of a challenge. Many people know about the basic car maintenance but do not take the time to make sure their car is taken care of before they drive it. Many problems can occur just by not checking out some basic things on every car before you drive it. Before you get behind the wheel and start driving your car, here are some simple things that you can do to increase the performance of your car and make sure it is going to be around for some time to come.

Everybody knows that you need to check the oil in the car but to increase the performance; you can add an oil cooler. This will decrease the temperature of the oil before it enters back into the engine. The cooler you can keep your engine while it is running, the more performance you can get from it. An oil cooler is easy to install and takes about 30 minutes but you will notice the performance the next time you drive your car.

Another thing that you can do is to add a cold air induction system to your car. This forces cold air into the carburetor, which cools down the air-fuel mixture before it enters the cylinders. The same principle is behind this as the oil cooler. The cold air induction system can add up to 22 more horsepower to any engine. You can purchase this product at any automotive parts stores but call first to make sure they have the style for your car before you get down there.

The best thing that you can do for your car is to make sure you keep up on your oil changes and other maintenance on your car. The basic tune-up to any engine can maintain the performance of your car and give the car some life as you drive. Keep this in mind the next time you are looking for ways to increase the performance of your car without spending a lot of money.
